University art exhibitions in Ecuador and Argentina showcase student works

The Universidad de las Artes in Quito opened the collective exhibition “LOTE 305” on July 9 in the El Garaje gallery of the Enrique Tábara building. Curated by faculty member Daniel Alvarado, the show features works by students from the Visual Arts School’s “Procesos de creación II” course, including paintings, installations and mixed‑media pieces. The exhibition, which will run until July 16, emphasizes experimental approaches and integrates everyday objects as “intrusive/impostor” elements.

In Santiago del Estero, Argentina, Governor Elías Suárez inaugurated the first annual show of the Instituto Superior de Bellas Artes “Juan Yaparí”, titled “El arte no se explica, se siente”. The exhibition displays works by 160 students across engraving, sculpture, printmaking, drawing and community‑intervention projects. Suárez highlighted art’s role in social transformation and pledged continued support for free, inclusive public art education. The event was attended by education officials and marked the inclusion of the exhibition in the provincial school calendar.
