University of Aberdeen has opened a priority investigation after staff member Heather Herbert, a former Scottish Green candidate and web developer, posted on Bluesky that former Conservative minister Ann Widdecombe's death was "good news" and wished her an "extremely painful death". The university said the remarks were the individual's own views and do not represent the institution, and that complaints would be handled confidentially.
