University of Aden awards PhD and launches fire safety training program

On 12 July 2026, the College of Education at the University of Aden held a doctoral defense for researcher Mohamed Saleh Mohsen Al‑Naqib. His dissertation examined the impact of combining the Edison model with the K.W.L strategy on ninth‑grade students’ mathematical problem‑solving and communication skills. The examination committee, chaired by Prof. Abdulwahab Awad Kuairan and including internal and external scholars, approved the work and awarded Al‑Naqib the PhD degree.

The same college also inaugurated a three‑day fire‑prevention training course. The program, sponsored by University President Dr. Al‑Khadir Nasser Lasour and supported by the Ministry of Interior’s Civil Defence chief Lt. Gen. Abdul‑Salam Al‑Omari, was delivered by safety expert Eng. Mohamed Abdu Haidar Saeed. It covered fire‑risk mitigation, emergency response procedures, and the use of extinguishing equipment, aiming to strengthen a culture of safety among staff and students.
