Overview

Following the University of Aden’s expansion of digital and quality-assurance infrastructure in June and July 2026, the institution has continued to broaden its institutional and research partnerships. On 31 July, the university’s staff union expressed gratitude to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amin Noman Al-Qudsi, and President Dr. Al-Khader Nasser Al-Sour for supporting the legal rights of administrative staff. On 7 August, the university’s College of Social Sciences and Humanities began developing its 2026–2030 strategic plan. On 11 August, the university signed a memorandum of understanding with the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries, Salem Al-Saqatri, to enhance cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, and water resources. In late August, the university hosted a training course for academic quality trainers and received a visit from Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Hussein Omar Baslim regarding the Aden University Museum. In September, the university expanded its international and professional reach. On 14 September, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation met with the Yemeni Cultural Attaché in Riyadh to discuss cooperation with Saudi Arabian institutions. On 15 September, the Faculty of Education partnered with the Amideast institute to improve graduate readiness. To mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Yemen and China, a student delegation traveled to China for an academic program. Subsequently, the university hosted a scientific and cultural event featuring remarks from acting Chinese Ambassador Shao Cheng. On 24 September, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized its fifth scientific day, themed ‘Building National Pharmaceutical Capacities Towards a Sustainable Local Pharmaceutical Industry,’ in partnership with the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances and the Pharmacists Syndicate in Aden. In early October, a youth delegation from the university concluded its visit to China with a closing ceremony at the Zhejiang University of International Studies.
