University of Aden initiates program to prepare academic courses for accreditation

The University of Aden launched a specialised training program on 13 June 2026 to prepare its academic programmes for accreditation. The three‑day initiative, running until 15 June, is organised by the university’s Centre for Academic Development and Quality Assurance and is supported by the Hadhramout Human Development Foundation.

The first phase targets representatives from quality committees of the faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, engineering, computer science and information technology, as well as the sciences. Participants received instruction on outcome‑based learning, gaps between graduate skills and market needs, and the components required for meeting national, regional and international accreditation standards. University President Prof. Khadr Nasser Losur stressed that “academic accreditation is now a strategic necessity to ensure the quality and competitiveness of higher education,” while the foundation’s representative highlighted the partnership’s fifteen‑year history of supporting university development.

The programme aims to build institutional capacity, improve teaching and research outcomes, and enhance the university’s regional and national standing through sustainable quality practices.
