University of Aden launches new media college programs while urging a national rescue plan

The College of Media at the University of Aden announced that it is fully prepared to admit a new cohort of about 120 bachelor’s and 35 master’s students for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The college has updated curricula to include digital public relations, investigative journalism, and misinformation verification, renovated four lecture halls, installed a solar‑power system, and highlighted its recent third‑place finish in the 2025 Arab university graduate project competition.

Separately, a broader proposal calls for a comprehensive national effort to restore the University of Aden, which has suffered extensive damage to its infrastructure, laboratories, libraries, and staff conditions due to years of conflict and economic strain. The plan urges coordinated investment from the government, local authorities, the private sector, civil‑society groups, and the media to fund building repairs, upgrade laboratories, modernise libraries, support faculty, and strengthen research partnerships, aiming to revive the university as a cornerstone of Yemen’s knowledge economy.
