University of Belgrade drops in latest Shanghai Ranking
The University of Belgrade has dropped in the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking. The institution is now positioned in the 501-600 range, falling from its previous placement within the top 500.
In the global rankings, Harvard University maintains the first position, followed by Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Within Europe, the University of Paris-Saclay holds the highest rank at 13th, with ETH Zurich at 19th. The report also noted a significant rise in Chinese institutions, with 16 universities now appearing in the top 100.
In the Balkan region, the University of Ljubljana saw a decline, moving to the 601-700 group, while the University of Zagreb maintained its position in the 601-700 range.
