University of Belgrade starts enrollment amid missing budget quota decision

The first enrollment round for basic and integrated study programs at Serbia's state universities opens on 19 June 2026, with the University of Belgrade leading the process. The Serbian government has not yet adopted the budget quotas nor issued the required technical instruction for admissions, prompting uncertainty over the number of state‑funded places.

For the 2026/27 academic year the university plans to admit 15 315 students across 109 programmes (102 in Serbian, seven in English). Of these, 9 732 seats are budget‑funded and 5 583 are self‑financing. Applications run until 23 June, with entrance exams scheduled from 24 to 30 June. Preliminary results will be posted by 1 July, final ranking lists by 6 July, and enrollment completed no later than 10 July.

The delay in approving budget quotas, which is typically resolved in May, has raised concerns among deans and students, as it is the first time admissions have proceeded without a confirmed quota count.
