University of Brasília hosts quilombola cultural showcase

The 8th edition of the Mostra Terra em Cena e na Tela will take place at the University of Brasília (UnB) Planaltina campus on August 20 and 21. The event features students, collectives, and quilombola and rural communities from the Federal District and Goiás.

The program includes workshops, theatrical performances, audiovisual showcases, book launches, and discussion circles. Specific performances include theater groups from the Instituto Federal de Brasília and groups from the Kalunga Quilombo, such as Encena Kalunga and Grupo Jiquitaias.

Beyond artistic displays, the event aims to promote reflection on rural cultural policies and the construction of the National Program for Art and Culture of the Countryside, Waters, and Forests.
