University of Buenos Aires launches environmental training project in General Alvarado

Researchers and faculty from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) Faculty of Agronomy visited Miramar to advance an academic project aimed at establishing General Alvarado as a reference site for practical training in Environmental Sciences.

The initiative involves a collaboration between the Félix de Azara Natural History Foundation and the Municipality of General Alvarado. The project seeks to implement an academic agreement to study regional natural and urban environments through an interdisciplinary lens. Key areas of focus include paleontological heritage, coastal ecosystems, land use, and rural dynamics.

Specialists in Paleontology, Agricultural Sciences, and Biological Sciences have begun surveying local sites, such as the Centinela del Mar Natural Reserve, to lay the groundwork for future student training sessions.
