University of Colima launches forums to develop digital culture program
The University of Colima (UdeC) will convene a series of forums that bring together students, faculty, staff, specialists and representatives from various social sectors. The aim is to gather evidence and collectively design an Institutional Digital Culture Program that promotes responsible, ethical and balanced use of mobile phones, social media, artificial intelligence and other digital technologies.
Rector Christian Jorge Torres Ortiz Zermeño emphasized that the initiative seeks dialogue rather than unilateral policy, intending to become a national reference for responsible digital culture in education. The program will be implemented in five stages, with the first stage focused on these participatory forums to identify challenges, share experiences and draft proposals.
The outcome is expected to guide UdeC’s internal policies and serve as a model for other educational levels across Mexico.
