University of Colima program launches

In early August 2026, the University of Colima announced two separate initiatives aimed at expanding its reach and modernizing its campus environment.

On August 1, the university unveiled the "UdeC sin Fronteras" alumni network, a permanent structure intended to connect graduates living abroad. The program will offer mentorship, job and internship opportunities, and promote academic and scientific collaboration among alumni, reinforcing the university’s international profile.

Two days later, on August 3, the rector introduced a series of participatory forums to design an Institutional Digital Culture Program. The forums will gather students, faculty, staff, specialists, and civil‑society representatives to develop policies for responsible use of mobile phones, social media, artificial intelligence and other digital tools. The initiative seeks to position the university as a national model for ethical digital practices in education.

Both announcements reflect a broader effort by the University of Colima to strengthen its global connections and to address emerging challenges in technology use among its community.
