University of Florida football opens season against Florida Atlantic

The University of Florida football team is set to open its 12-game regular season against Florida Atlantic University on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The matchup marks the first meeting between the two programs since 2021.

Florida will debut a new quarterback in Aaron Philo, a junior transfer from Georgia Tech. Philo secured the starting position following a competition with sophomore Tramell Jones Jr. during training camp. Analyst Brooks Austin noted that Philo possesses “pocket movement, toughness and processing ability” based on his previous collegiate film.
