University of Guadalajara launches astronomical camps for students

The Institute of Astronomy and Meteorology (IAM) at the University of Guadalajara has launched Astronomical Camps, an initiative designed to foster scientific vocations among middle and high school students. The program involves several preparatory schools within the university's system and aims to use celestial phenomena to engage youth in exact sciences, technology, and environmental science.

Through this project, students participate in practical observation while developing skills in robotics, electronics, programming, and light pollution analysis. Additionally, the IAM provides training and certification for local teachers to establish science clubs in their schools. The initiative includes free courses with international NASE certification to encourage technological interest and environmental awareness among students.
