University of Indonesia explores AI and cybersecurity partnership with Russian firm
The University of Indonesia’s Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA UI) is exploring a partnership with the Russian cybersecurity firm Positive Technologies. The proposed cooperation focuses on training and development in the fields of data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity.
Facilitated by the Sakuranesia Society, the initiative aims to address Indonesia’s need for reliable digital talent. Alhadi Bustamam, Head of the FMIPA UI Data Science Center, noted that cybersecurity and AI are increasingly inseparable, as modern security systems rely on AI to detect threats and AI models require secure data.
The collaboration is intended to provide students and lecturers with access to real-world cases and best practices. Beyond training, the parties hope the engagement will lead to joint research and high-quality publications to help solve digital security challenges in Indonesia.
