Collegiate athletics: Lynchburg and Batten University secure key victories

Various collegiate athletic competitions took place across several sports. In women's soccer, UMBC defeated Longwood 2-0, while the University of Lynchburg secured a 2-0 win over St. Mary's (Md.). Saint Mary's (CA) extended its unbeaten streak to 15 matches with a 2-0 victory against San Jose State. Salisbury University's women's soccer team faced losses against both John Carroll and the University of Lynchburg.

In field hockey, the 17th-ranked University of Lynchburg defeated the 20th-ranked Dickinson College 2-0. Meanwhile, the 3rd-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team achieved an overtime victory against 9th-ranked Messiah, winning 3-2.

In women's golf, Batten University won the Shenandoah Women's Invitational with a total score of 633. Susquehanna University finished third, setting a new program record for the lowest 36-hole team score, while Methodist University placed fourth.
