Collegiate women’s athletic competition results

Recent reports highlight various successes in collegiate women’s athletics, specifically in volleyball, soccer, golf, and field hockey.

In volleyball, the University of Lynchburg Hornets achieved a historic start to their season, winning their first six matches without dropping a single set.

In women’s soccer, several teams secured significant wins. The University of Utah recorded a 5-1 victory over Long Beach State. The University of Texas at Dallas earned its first Lone Star Conference win with a 3-0 victory over Sul Ross State, marking its sixth consecutive shutout. Boise State secured a 4-0 victory over Portland State, tying a program record for fewest goals allowed through eight matches. Other notable results include Santa Clara defeating Fresno State 4-0, Utah State recording a 3-0 shutout against South Dakota State, and Saint Mary's (CA) extending its unbeaten streak to 15 matches with a 2-0 win over San Jose State. UMBC also defeated Longwood 2-0, and the University of Lynchburg secured a 2-0 win over St. Mary's (Md.).

In field hockey, the 17th-ranked University of Lynchburg defeated the 20th-ranked Dickinson College 2-0, and the 3rd-ranked Salisbury University achieved a 3-2 overtime victory against 9th-ranked Messiah.

In women’s golf, Batten University secured the team title at the Shenandoah Chinatown Invitational with a two-day score of 633 (+57), led by individual champion Juliette Coffey. Marymount University finished in second place, followed by Susquehanna University in third with a program-record 36-hole team score of 637 (+61). Salisbury University placed fourth, featuring a new program record for the lowest single round by Krista Brosius, who shot a 76.
