The University of Nebraska Foundation has announced a record-breaking $532.8 million in private donations for the fiscal year ending June 30. This marks the first time the foundation’s annual fundraising has exceeded $500 million.

Supported by 58,433 donors, the funds are designated for specific university purposes and cannot be used to address state budget shortfalls. Approximately 99% of the gifts are restricted to specific projects. The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is set to receive $243.2 million, while the University of Nebraska at Omaha will receive $108 million. Other allocations include $18.3 million for Nebraska Athletics and $11.5 million for the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The fundraising success is part of the 'Only in Nebraska: A Campaign for Our University’s Future,' a multiyear initiative that has already exceeded its donor and fundraising targets. The campaign is scheduled to conclude in September 2027.
