College football programs hold preseason scrimmages

Major college football programs held preseason scrimmages this weekend as fall camps progress.

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning described the Ducks' first major scrimmage at Autzen Stadium as ‘overall good.’ While the team showed progress in the pass rush, Lanning noted a need for improved ball security and special teams execution. He highlighted the significant development of transfer quarterback Dylan Raiola, describing him as ‘night-and-day different’ since arriving in the spring.

At Ohio State, coach Ryan Day reported progress during the team's ninth practice and first closed scrimmage. Day specifically praised running back Bo Jackson for making strides in his ability to navigate the second level of the defense.

Kentucky head coach Will Stein characterized the Wildcats' scrimmage as ‘sloppy,’ citing heat and the ongoing installation of offensive and defensive schemes as contributing factors. Stein emphasized that the team has three weeks to refine their play before the season opener.
