University of Oregon football preseason camp

The University of Oregon football team began its preseason fall camp under challenging conditions. Due to hazardous wildfire smoke in the Eugene area, the initial practice session was moved indoors to the Moshofsky Center. Head coach Dan Lanning reported that players performed well during the session, noting that they “flew around” during conditioning checks. Freshman wide receiver Jalen Lott made a standout play during this indoor session, catching a contested deep pass from quarterback Dante Moore.

As the camp progressed into its first full week, the team transitioned to practicing on new outdoor turf fields. Training has focused on building depth and chemistry, particularly within the offensive line. Offensive line coach A'lique Terry highlighted intense competition as the unit works to replace departing players such as Emmanuel Pregnon, Alex Harkey, and Isaiah World. Veteran center Iapani “Poncho” Laloulu has emerged as a key leader, mentoring newcomers like Immanuel Iheanacho and Tommy Tofi.

In recent workouts on the outdoor fields, defensive assistant coach Kamran Araghi stated the program is aiming for a “havoc rate of over 20 percent” for the defense. Araghi emphasized the importance of personal accountability and high expectations as the team prepares for its first preseason scrimmage.

During the team’s first major scrimmage at Autzen Stadium, Coach Lanning described the performance as “overall good.” While the team showed progress in the pass rush, Lanning noted a need for improved ball security and special teams execution. He also highlighted the significant development of transfer quarterback Dylan Raiola, describing him as “night-and-day different” since his arrival in the spring.
