University of Southern Denmark launches UCloud AI platform

The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) has launched UCloud AI, a sovereign artificial intelligence platform designed to provide secure access to advanced language models and computing power. Integrated into the national research platform UCloud, the service runs on the BITTEN AI supercomputer located in Sønderborg.

Developed through the DeiC Interactive HPC consortium—a collaboration between SDU, Aarhus University, and Aalborg University—the platform allows researchers and students at Denmark’s eight universities to access AI tools using their existing university credentials. The service is designed to allow users to work with AI alongside their own data and applications without compromising data control or intellectual property rights. While currently focused on academia, the platform will soon be available to businesses and other organizations seeking a secure, cost-effective AI infrastructure.
