University of Tartu launches new movement and wellbeing program
The University of Tartu has launched a new movement and wellbeing program titled ‘Tartu Ülikool liigub’ (University of Tartu Moves). The initiative aims to integrate physical activity into the daily routines of students and staff without the pressure of intense gym workouts.
Chancellor Kstina Noormets emphasized that movement should be a natural part of everyday life, suggesting activities such as cycling to lectures, walking, or spending time outdoors. The program consolidates various existing university sports initiatives under one umbrella to better support the mental and physical health of the university community, which is a key pillar of the institution's new development plan.
