University of Texas and Texas‑Dallas unveil 2026 Athletics Hall of Honor inductees

The University of Texas at Dallas announced that four former athletes and a longtime administrator will be inducted into its Athletics Hall of Honors as part of the 2026 class. The inductees are former women’s tennis star Rachel Houston, men’s soccer standout Omar Jaroun, volleyball All‑American Kayla Jordan O’Connell, and Bruce Unrue, who served as associate athletic director for media relations. Their induction ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Davidson‑Gundy Alumni Center.

Separately, the University of Texas at Austin revealed its 2026 Hall of Honor class of 13 former Longhorn athletes and one coach. The ceremony will take place on Friday, Sept. 18, in the LBJ Auditorium, followed by on‑field recognition during the Longhorns football game against UTSA the next day. Among the honorees are Olympians Mark Boswell, Malcolm Brown, Ryan Crouser, Jackson Jeffcoat, Garrett Weber‑Gale and former All‑America offensive tackle Mike Williams. Tickets for the event are $25 each.
