Unrelated incidents reported in Italy

Two separate incidents have been reported in Italy involving personal hardship and emergency rescues.

In Pordenone, two brothers, aged 59 and 64, have become homeless after a failed business venture in Lombardy. Following the death of their mother, the siblings attempted to open a clothing and footwear shop in Soresina, which resulted in economic failure. After returning to Pordenone, they struggled with bureaucracy and a lack of affordable rental housing. Having exhausted their state inclusion income on temporary lodging, the brothers face sleeping in their vehicle as they await emergency intervention from social services.

In South Tyrol, two teenagers, aged 13 and 16, were rescued from potential death by hypothermia in the mountains near Dobbiaco. A German family on vacation left the minors to continue a trek toward the Bonnerhütte refuge after the adults became fatigued and turned back. Upon arrival, the siblings found the refuge closed. They attempted to camp outside, but the youngest began showing symptoms of hypothermia. Alpine rescue teams intervened and transported the youths to the hospital in San Candido for treatment.
