Unrelated incidents reported in Mexico and Ecuador

In Monclova, Coahuila, authorities have confirmed a case of femicide followed by suicide. A necropsy determined that 44-year-old Amalia Margarita Orozco Ramírez died of strangulation. Her husband, 45-year-old Eduardo Alejandro Valadez Rodríguez, died by suicide. The couple's 13-year-old son discovered the bodies upon returning from school. While investigators noted a history of domestic arguments, there were no prior formal reports of family violence. The state prosecutor's office is continuing its investigation.

In Manabí, Ecuador, the family of attorney Juan Pablo Mendoza Saltos is demanding transparency regarding his death following a police intervention. Mendoza died on October 16 during the independence festivities in Portoviejo. Two police officers have been placed under house arrest and electronic monitoring for the alleged crime of exceeding their authority in the execution of service. Mendoza's wife, Gabriela Elizabeth Pinargote, has publicly called for the truth to be uncovered to ensure the case is not forgotten.
