Unum report urges flexible group life insurance for diverse workforces
A report titled ‘Ja w swoim wieku’, produced by Unum in collaboration with the University of Warsaw, highlights shifting trends in life insurance consumption in Poland. The study suggests that insurance needs are driven more by life stages and personal experiences than by age-based stereotypes.
Experts suggest that employers should offer more flexible group insurance programs to accommodate multi-generational workforces. While Generations X and Y often associate life insurance with family protection, Generation Z tends to view it through the lens of health security. Despite these differences, approximately half of respondents across all generations view holding a life insurance policy as a sign of maturity.
Data from the Polish Insurance Chamber indicates that by the end of the first quarter of 2026, nearly 26 million people held life insurance, with over 57% covered by group policies. Group insurance remains a primary entry point for younger individuals, introducing them to the benefits of financial support during illness or accidents.
