Unusual weather patterns reported in Portugal and Brazil
Unusual temperature fluctuations are being recorded in both Portugal and Brazil during late October.
In Portugal, temperatures are expected to reach unusually high levels for the season, with some inland areas potentially hitting 26°C. This warm spell is expected to be temporary, as the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) predicts a drop in temperatures starting Tuesday, accompanied by light rain in the North and coastal regions.
Conversely, the state of Paraná in Brazil is experiencing unseasonably cold weather. Several locations have recorded the lowest temperatures for October in their historical series. In Marechal Cândido Rondon, temperatures are forecasted to drop to 12°C. Other areas in Paraná, such as Guarapuava and Horizonte, have already seen significant lows, with temperatures reaching as low as 3°C and 2.3°C respectively.
