Overview

In late October 2026, Brazil experienced significant temperature anomalies across various regions. Initially, several states including Bahia, Minas Gerais, Roraima, and Santa Catarina faced abnormal heatwaves. In Minas Gerais, temperatures in João Pinheiro were projected to reach 39°C, while Braço do Norte in Santa Catarina saw highs 10.2°C above historical averages.

Bahia also reported rising temperatures, with Feira de Santana reaching highs of 38°C and thermal sensations of 41°C alongside dropping humidity levels. Subsequently, the weather pattern shifted in the state of Paraná, which experienced unseasonably cold conditions. Locations such as Marechal Cândido Rondon, Guarapuava, and Horizonte recorded significant lows, with temperatures dropping as low as 2.3°C.
