UP Police seize luxury cars following Umar Ahmed convoy dispute
Uttar Pradesh Police have seized two luxury cars in Prayagraj following a violent dispute involving the convoy of Umar Ahmed, son of deceased mafia leader Atiq Ahmed. The incident occurred at the Akhtiyari Kotila toll plaza in the Hathigwan police station area while Umar Ahmed was traveling from Lucknow to Prayagraj for the funeral of his brother, Aban Ahmed.
According to police reports, members of a private convoy following the official police escort refused to pay toll fees, verbally abused employees, attempted to break the toll barrier, and tried to run over staff with vehicles. Authorities have registered an FIR involving serious charges, including attempted murder and obstructing government officials.
Investigators are currently using CCTV footage and vehicle registration data to identify the owners and occupants of the dozens of private vehicles that joined the convoy. Police are specifically looking into whether the convoy was pre-planned or if supporters joined spontaneously, and they are tracing the timeline of the vehicles across Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, and Fatehpur.
