UPCN threatens street protests over Property Registry decay

The UPCN union has threatened to move office operations to the street due to the deteriorating conditions at the Property Registry. Union representatives reported significant electrical risks, exposed wiring, and inadequate storage for notary archives, noting that some documents are being kept in bathrooms due to a lack of space.

UPCN Deputy Secretary Carina Domínguez criticized the government's focus on digital transformation while the physical infrastructure remains in a state of precariousness. The union warned that if no solutions are provided within the coming week, workers will move their desks and typewriters to the sidewalk to continue their duties as a form of protest. Additionally, the union highlighted that half of the workforce is in transitory positions and called for permanent staff appointments.
