Glenn Pysher fatally shot by Pennsylvania police
Glenn “Bubba” Pysher, a 22-year-old college baseball player, was fatally shot by police in Upper Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, early Sunday morning. According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, officers responded to a 911 call regarding a possible attempted break-in at a residence on Snyder Road around 12:30 a.m.
Pysher’s family states that he mistakenly attempted to enter the residence, believing it was his friend’s home after a night of drinking. His mother, Erin Pysher, noted that he was unarmed and carrying only a cellphone and a book bag. Authorities reported that an encounter ensued at the rear of the property, leading officers to discharge their weapons.
The Montgomery County Detective Bureau is investigating the officer-involved shooting. Surveillance footage from the backyard is reportedly being reviewed as part of the investigation. Pysher was a recent transfer to Saint Elizabeth University in New Jersey, where he was scheduled to begin classes and play on the baseball team.
