UPSC announces 2026 departmental recruitment exams

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the Limited Departmental Competitive Examinations (LDCE) for 2026. The recruitment process includes positions for Section Officer Grade-B and Stenographer Grade-B/Grade-I.

Online applications are open from September 16 until October 6, 2026. The examinations are scheduled to take place on December 12 and 13, 2026. This recruitment is specifically intended for eligible serving government employees within certain cadres, such as the Central Secretariat Service, Indian Foreign Service Branch ‘B’, and the Intelligence Bureau.

Candidates applying for the Section Officer role must submit a printed copy of their application through their respective Ministry or Department to the Cadre Controlling Authority by October 23, 2026. The total number of vacancies will be determined and communicated by the relevant Cadre Controlling Authorities.
