UPSC Civil Services Mains Examination 2026 to begin August 21

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is scheduled to conduct the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026. The examination will be held in two phases: from August 21 to August 23, and again from August 29 to August 30.

The schedule includes the Essay paper on August 21, followed by General Studies papers on August 22 and 23. The final phase on August 29 and 30 will cover Indian Language, English, and Optional Subjects.

Candidates must present their e-Admit Card and original ID proof at their respective examination centres. The Commission requires two recent passport-sized photographs for each session. In instances where identity authentication or face verification issues arise, candidates may be required to complete an undertaking at the venue to ensure compliance with verification requirements.
