UPSC CSE Prelims 2026: Candidates challenge 27 questions in court

A group of 63 candidates has approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) to challenge the provisional answer key for the 2026 UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. The petitioners allege that 27 questions across the General Studies and aptitude papers contain errors, including incorrect answers, questions with no valid options, or questions that allow for multiple possible answers.

This legal challenge follows an initial petition by four candidates that focused on eight specific questions from General Studies Paper-I. The current petition expands the scope of the dispute to 27 questions. The controversy has drawn significant attention from aspirants, as the preliminary exam serves as the essential screening stage for the subsequent Main Examination.
