Uruapan rehabilitates Plaza de La Ranita as cultural center

The Plaza de La Ranita in Uruapan, Michoacán, has undergone a rehabilitation project to transform the former Cine Odeón site into the Centro Artesanal y Cultural de la Plaza de La Ranita. The project involved an investment of 19.8 million pesos and covers 1,478 square meters.

Located in the city's historic center, the space is designed to promote community coexistence and cultural identity. A key feature is a mural measuring 63 meters long by 9 meters high, which is considered the largest in Michoacán. The mural depicts local traditions, including artisans and the National Park. The facility also includes a Casa de las Artesanías shop to showcase local craftsmanship and outdoor areas for artistic presentations, gastronomic events, and community gatherings.
