Uruguay explores OECD membership to strengthen international ties

Uruguay is exploring closer ties with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to strengthen its international presence and multilateral engagement. During the 11th Ministerial Summit of the OECD Regional Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean held in Montevideo, officials discussed the benefits of participating in an organization that shares values of democracy and multilateralism.

Alejandro Sánchez, Secretary of the Presidency, noted that engaging with international experiences through such platforms would enhance national sovereignty. The summit also featured discussions on artificial intelligence and inclusive innovation, involving various regional authorities.
