Uruguay police investigate two separate fatal shootings

Police in Uruguay are investigating two separate fatal incidents involving men with criminal records.

In Toledo, Canelones, the body of a 50-year-old man was discovered near the Carrasco stream on La Capilla street. The Homicide Department and Scientific Police are working to determine the cause of death and identify potential suspects. While some reports suggest homicide, official police statements are currently focused on establishing the circumstances of the death.

In the Colón neighborhood of Montevideo, a 37-year-old man was shot and killed early Saturday morning near the intersection of Andrés Yedros and Bonmesadri. Witnesses reported hearing approximately three gunshots and seeing two individuals on a motorcycle firing weapons before fleeing. The Homicide Department and the Homicide Prosecutor's Office have taken charge of the investigation.
