Uruguayan bishops visit Rome while Arequipa highlights Peruvian industry
Bishops from Uruguay traveled to Rome for the Visita ad Limina Apostolorum from September 14 to 19. During this pilgrimage, the delegation met with Pope Leo XIV to present the realities of their various dioceses and renew their communion with the Holy See.
Monseñor Milton Tróccoli, president of the Episcopal Conference of Uruguay, led the group. The bishops presented the Pope with two volumes containing the voices, dreams, and concerns of the Uruguayan people, along with letters and drawings from children, in anticipation of the Pope's future visit to the country.
In Peru, the city of Arequipa is highlighted for its significant industrial contributions to the nation. The region is noted for producing major brands and essential goods, including La Ibérica chocolate, Gloria milk, and Yura cement, demonstrating a long history of transforming raw materials into widely distributed products.
