Uruguayan Deputy Rodrigo Goñi Praises Brazil Senate’s Tech Innovations
Uruguayan Chamber of Representatives president Rodrigo Goñi visited Brazil’s Federal Senate and met Senate president Davi Alcolumbre. He highlighted the Senate’s use of semi‑presential sessions, citizen‑submitted legislative proposals, the e‑Cidadania portal, YouTube streaming of committee work, remote voting and ongoing AI projects, calling the body a regional model for legislative technology.
Goñi said AI could aid regional integration and affect labor markets, and he planned further meetings with Senate technical staff, the Federal Court of Accounts and Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies to discuss cooperation on innovation and digital governance.
