Uruguay's Partido Nacional supports interpellation of Labor Minister Castillo

The Partido Nacional has announced its support for a motion to interpellate the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Juan Castillo. The request, originally initiated by Deputy Adrián Juri of the Colorado Party, is scheduled for a vote in the Chamber of Representatives next Tuesday.

The decision follows Castillo’s cancellation of a scheduled appearance before a Senate commission. Juan Martín Rodríguez, a coordinator for the Blanco parliamentary group, criticized the move, stating that certain officials appear to avoid oversight. If the motion passes, a date will be set for the minister to testify before the chamber.
