US and Iran escalate military conflict amid satellite imagery allegations

Tensions between the United States and Iran continue to escalate through a cycle of military strikes and retaliatory actions. In southern Iran, a US missile strike hit a house in Kuhestak during a wedding celebration, resulting in four deaths, including a child, and 68 injuries. Washington stated the strikes targeted missile and mine-laying capabilities near the Strait of Hormuz.

In response to US actions, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks against US facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates. Following an attack on the Muwaffak Salti Air Base in Jordan that killed three US soldiers, reports surfaced alleging that Chinese companies provided satellite imagery to Iran to assist in targeting.

China has officially denied these allegations, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun calling the claims “unfounded suspicions and accusations without evidence.” US President Donald Trump commented on the reports, noting that both nations engage in espionage activities.
