U.S. Army convention showcases autonomous warfare technology

The annual Association of the United States Army convention in Washington showcased advancements in unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), ranging from large armored fighting vehicles to small-scale robotic insects and dogs.

These technologies are central to Project Agincourt, an initiative led by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to accelerate the U.S. military's transition toward autonomous warfare. Hegseth noted that $1 billion in funding has been allocated toward drone dominance following an executive order.

Among the featured technologies is the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) manufactured by BAE Systems. This hybrid unit is designed for both manned and unmanned operations, with over 600 units already fielded to the Army.
