US Central Command says it rerouted 30 merchant ships and secured passage for over 1,000 vessels through the Strait of H

The U.S. Central Command announced that it has altered the navigation routes of 30 merchant vessels, disabling two ships and boarding two others to verify compliance with a blockade. About 30 additional ships were permitted to cross the blockade line to deliver humanitarian aid.

In a separate statement, the command said that in the past three months U.S. forces have helped more than 1,000 ships transit the Strait of Hormuz freely, with the southern lane remaining open to all commercial traffic. The remarks came after President Donald Trump declared the June 18 cease‑fire with Iran void, prompting a series of U.S. strikes and Iranian retaliatory attacks that temporarily closed the strait.

The Central Command emphasized that the southern route is fully operational and that the United States continues to enforce navigation security while allowing humanitarian shipments.
