Latitude Air Ambulance crew and passengers presumed dead after crash

Six people are presumed dead following the disappearance and crash of a Latitude Air Ambulance Gulfstream G100. The aircraft was conducting a medical evacuation flight from Bermuda to Boston, Massachusetts, when contact was lost early Saturday morning.

The United States Coast Guard has suspended search and rescue operations after locating a debris field off the coast of Nantucket. The victims include four Canadian crew members—Captain Philip Gregory Childerhose, First Officer Thomas Henry Farquhar, Flight Nurse Sarah Jane Paton, and Jolene Beth Weir—as well as two Bermudian passengers, Marilyn Lavonne Bean and her son, Sergio Wayne Lottimore.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are being conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. Prior to the disappearance, the pilot had reportedly communicated electrical issues and declared an emergency while approaching the coast.
