Iran launches missile and drone strikes on US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait amid escalating conflict

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a series of missile and drone attacks on U.S. military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait, hitting air‑defence systems, radar sites, drone‑maintenance hangars and a key logistics base. The IRGC also reported strikes on U.S. assets in Jordan and other Gulf facilities, describing the operations as retaliation for a successive campaign of U.S. night‑time airstrikes on Iranian targets.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that it has carried out ten consecutive nights of strikes on Iran, targeting command centres, missile‑launch sites and maritime facilities. The back‑and‑forth exchange has raised concerns about the safety of commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, especially after Houthi rebels in Yemen threatened to block Saudi ports.

In response to the widening crisis, the United States warned its citizens worldwide to exercise heightened caution, increased alert levels in the region, and moved additional fighter jets and aerial‑refueler aircraft from Europe and elsewhere to the Middle East, including deployments to Israel to support regional forces.
