US firms in Europe see stable transatlantic ties a year after trade deal

A survey by the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) of more than 160 member companies, including Apple, Goldman Sachs and ExxonMobil, finds that a majority of U.S. firms operating in Europe expect stable transatlantic trade and investment relations over the next 12 months. 51% of respondents anticipate stable ties, 21% foresee further improvement, while 28% predict a downturn.

AmCham EU chief executive Malte Lohan said the results suggest the EU‑U.S. trade agreement has largely met its objectives and helped avoid the escalation many feared. The European Commission recently gave a guarded welcome to new U.S. tariffs after a 10% global tariff expired, noting the outcome aligns with the trade deal.
