US fund Clara Vista backs Frosinone; Newport Holdings takes over Trieste basketball

New York‑based Clara Vista Investments announced its interest in an Italian Serie A football club, identified as Frosinone, via a map on its website. The fund, which also holds a stake in Ipswich Town through Gamechanger 20, outlined a strategy focused on data‑driven recruitment, disciplined salary structures and commercial modernization. Details of the investment and the club’s financial situation are to be disclosed at a press conference scheduled for 1 July with club president Maurizio Stirpe.

Separately, foreign group Newport Holdings LLC acquired a majority stake in Cotogna Sports Group, the owner of the Pallacanestro Trieste basketball club. The board appointed existing minority shareholder and board member Connor Barwin as the club’s new president, while general manager Michael Arcieri will continue to run daily operations. The ownership change was announced on 25 June 2026.
