US GAO to probe DOJ handling of Epstein files under congressional oversight

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) will investigate the Department of Justice's handling of the Epstein files at the request of Congress. The inquiry is aimed at clarifying how the Epstein-related documents were managed and published by the DOJ.

The investigation follows bipartisan concerns that the administration publicly exposed victims connected to the financier, raising questions about transparency and the manner in which the files were released and handled by the DOJ.
