U.S. institutions host events to mark 25th anniversary of September 11 attacks

Various institutions in the United States are preparing to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The National Naval Aviation Museum will host a large public ceremony themed ‘Service and Sacrifice: Remembering September 11, 2001’. The event features retired Vice Admiral John B. Totushek as the keynote speaker. Totushek, who was stationed at the Pentagon during the attacks, oversaw the mobilization of over 10,000 Navy reservists in the aftermath of the event.

In East Texas, Kilgore College will hold a public event titled ‘Remembering 9/11: Reflection & Conversation’. The program will feature Michael Hingson, an author and survivor who escaped the World Trade Center with his guide dog, Roselle. The college is also hosting a memorial exhibit at its Watson Library, featuring photographs, artifacts, and community stories related to the attacks.
