US Investment Fund Expands Funding Drive in Malaysia and Indonesia
The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has boosted its investment capacity to $205 billion and is directing funds toward strategic projects in Southeast Asia. In Malaysia, the DFC is evaluating large‑scale deals in semiconductor and data‑center production, critical infrastructure such as subsea cables and ports, and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, fintech and critical minerals.
At the same time, US officials have indicated interest in nuclear and broader financial investment opportunities in Indonesia, aiming to strengthen economic ties and support key sectors under the country's development agenda.
